We had a great turn out for Skywarn Recognition Day at the NWS Office.  Technical (antenna) issues kept us from getting on the air, but we will have those resolved very soon!

Our Skywarn meeting went very well.  Al Sandrick from the NWS office Ja spoke and reviewed the weather events from 2017.  It was a busy year for the NWS and Skywarn starting off in January 2017.  Skywarn had 5 activations in 2017 and we able to assist the NWS in each one.

Nominations for Skywarn Officers was held during November.  All nominations were to keep the Jax Skywarn Association Officers the same as they have been in 2017.  A vote was held at the meeting and passed unanimously.

The staff at the NWS office provided lunch for those who attended and they sat with us and answered questions that came up.

It was a great day at the NWS office and we look forward to a great 2018.  As Al Sandrick and Scott Cordero from the NWS put it, “We hope we do not need Skywarn, but are very glad that you all are there to support us if we do need you.”
