On 10-26-19, we held a Skywarn meeting at the NOFARS Free Flea. The meeting was well attended. Here is what we discussed:

Nominations for officers for 2020 was opened. Those present at the meeting voted to keep the existing leadership in place. A nomination form for online nominations is available at the bottom of this post.

We will be establishing “coordinators” for each county in the Jacksonville NWS Office area (29 counties). These coordinators will handle the day to day interactions with those in their county who are members of Skywarn, handle any local activations, and handle any local Skywarn Nets. This will allow for better participation for all Skywarn members. The leadership of the Jacksonville Skywarn Association will pass information to the coordinators so that all members can remain informed about important weather events and information from the NWS Office in Jacksonville.
